The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) will unveiled their Certified Retail Manager Program, a new initiative for the professional development of the members at the 2018 PGA Merchandise Show.

 Long-regarded as the “Educational Voice in Golf Merchandising,” the AGM’s designation of “Certified Retail Manager” will affirm to the industry that the individual has the expertise and the ability to operate a retail operation successfully and profitably by implementing the highest standards of management and execution.  Interested individual can start this journey by enrolling in the combined Retail Strategies Courses I and II.  Advancement to the next levels will be available to those individuals who have successfully passed the written test which will be given at the close of the session.

  Retail Strategies Course I – Overview

  The introductory session in the Retail Strategies series.  It provides an introduction to the basics of buying strategies such as merchandise mix and vendor selection for those new to the business, but it is also an excellent refresher course.  This session will explore basic retail fundamentals that can be easily implemented to make your golf operation successful.

     Retail Strategies Course II – Overview

   The second course in the series builds on the introductory principles from Course I.  This session focuses on retail metrics, how to calculate and why they are important for the success of your shop.  Topics such as turnover, pricing merchandise and appropriate average inventory levels will be discussed.
